This time around and since there's KubeCon in our city we'll be having 2 talks on the subject by two organisations really invested in Kubernetes: openSUSE and GitLab. For the occasion we'll have two leaders of the respective organisations who will tell us two very different perspectives of the subject.
Working in the Open
Changing your internal model to Open-by-default can take a shift in your patterns. What does it take to work in the open, for the open? Jason Plum works for a company that contributes back to the community directly, producing an open-core product. He’ll share insights on changing from Closed to Open.
Jason Plum is a Senior Software Engineer, Distribution at GitLab, providing a large number of deployment methods for GitLab’s product. He has worked extensively to build GitLab’s cloud native Helm charts, enabling the ease of use that GitLab customers have come to expect, but the power of configuration and orchestration that Kubernetes provides.
openSUSE Kubic is a certified Kubernetes distribution &
container-related technologies built by the openSUSE community. This talk will
give you an introduction to this new distribution, while also talking about
container-related technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
Miquel Sabaté is a free software enthusiast working at SUSE in the containers team since its very inception
